Greg Norman To Design Signature Golf Course For Toll Brothers In Jupiter Florida
JUPITER, Fla. (June 6, 2005) - Greg Norman Golf Course Design (GNGCD) and Toll Brothers, Inc., one of the nation's leading builders of luxury homes, have entered into an agreement for Norman to design a championship golf course at Jupiter Country Club. The project is located at the intersection of Indiantown Road and Florida's Turnpike and is situated on 483 acres.
"This will be my first design for Toll Brothers and my first project in Palm Beach County," said Norman. "We are very excited about working with one of the most successful home developers in the United States on perhaps the best undeveloped parcel of land in the area. Jupiter Country Club will be a landmark project for both Toll Brothers and GNGCD."
Toll Brothers will build approximately 266 detached single-family homes and 394 attached town homes at Jupiter Country Club. Amenities in addition to the golf course will include a private golf clubhouse with dining room, a separate health and fitness clubhouse with pool, tennis courts, state-of-the-art fitness center and members' grille. Home prices are expected to begin in the $700,000s to $1.3 million range. Jupiter Country Club is expected to open for sales in early 2006.
"We are proud to have the opportunity to work with Greg Norman on this project. He's one of the top stars and his talent will ensure a world-class golf course. The combination of a Greg Norman Signature golf course and Toll Brothers luxury homes will make Jupiter Country Club one of the most sought-after addresses in Palm Beach County and a great addition to our current list of 21 communities in Florida," said Robert I. Toll, Chairman and CEO of Toll Brothers, Inc.
During his 30-year professional golf career, Norman has collected more than 90 international victories including two British Open Championships and 20 U.S. PGA Tour titles. The same commitment and determination that made Norman the No.1 player in the world for 331 weeks and resulted in a World Golf Hall of Fame induction now propels his multi-national company, Great White Shark Enterprises, to similar achievements.
"Toll Brothers has hired us to design a member-friendly course that will also challenge the low handicap player," said Jason McCoy, Senior Vice President of GNGCD. "Fairways and areas of turf will be very generous. The master plan is unique as the golf course corridors are large by modern standards and the golfer will never feel as if the homes intrude on the course. Large lakes also separate and buffer the course from the real estate. Unique to this site, the seventh hole will feature a large mature cypress head that was preserved in the master planning process."
