FAIRHAVEN, Mass. -- Titleist, manufacturer of the No. 1 ball in golf and the industry leader in golf ball technology, introduces the DT SoLo.
Positioned as the ÎFeel Good Golf Ballâ, the new DT SoLo offers golfers soft feel and long distance along with the exceptional quality that golfers have come to expect from Titleist.
ãThe new Titleist DT SoLo affords golfers of varying abilities with a Soft Feel and Long Distance offering that is performance superior to competitive products currently occupying the value segment,ââ said George Sine, Vice President, Golf Ball Marketing and Strategic Planning. ãWe are confident that golfers who have played competitive golf ball models such as Precept MC Lady and Laddie and Maxfli Noodle will like the new DT SoLo even better.ä
The DT SoLo name connotes a variety of features and benefits that the golf ball provides, including ÎSoft Feelä, ãSo Longä, or its ãSo Lowä compression.
The new DT SoLo features a large, soft compression (1.550ä), high velocity core formulation, which contributes to a softer finished compression in the mid-60âs and a higher initial velocity.
It also features a soft, durable and responsive Surlyn cover blend with a 392 icosahedra dimple design. The combination provides longer overall distance and offers better short game spin and control than most other two-piece distance balls.
ãThe technological advancements of the new Titleist DT SoLo are indicative of our on-going commitment to provide golfers of all playing abilities with golf ball performance choices that most optimize their respective games,ä said Sine. ãThe new DT SoLo applies advanced large, solid core technology that results in a distance golf ball with a much lower spin rate which will minimize hook and slice side spin for longer and straighter distance.ä
In an effort to introduce consumers to the new personality of the DT SoLo, as well as share shift competitive users by encouraging trial of the new product, Titleist will dedicate significant promotional and merchandising support, including consumer sampling and unique in-shop displays and collateral materials. The DT SoLo will be sold in the traditional 3-ball sleeve and dozen configurations.
The new Titleist DT SoLo will begin shipping to golf shops on March 1 with a suggested retail price of $28 per dozen, which coincides with the debut of a DT SoLo-dedicated microsite, www.titleist.com/dtsolo.
