CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation

CureSearch supports the Children's Oncology Group (COG), the world's largest cooperative pediatric cancer research network of physicians, nurses and scientists who represent every childhood cancer program in North America and treat over 90% of children with cancer. By working together to design and conduct clinical trials and research, COG members provide children with cancer and their families' access to the highest possible standards of care at a pediatric cancer center that is close to home.

This year, CureSearch is proud to commemorate the 50th anniversary of cooperative pediatric cancer group research and honor the legacy of scientific progress that has turned childhood cancer from a nearly incurable disease to one with an overall 78% cure rate. While this success is impressive, the status quo is not acceptable.

CureSearch is driven by the somber reality that childhood cancer is still the #1 cause of death due to disease in children and many survivors face long-term side effects that are life-altering or worse, life-threatening. Research is the only key to cure.

The Merrill Lynch Shark Shootout continues to support CureSearch to help the Children's Oncology Group build upon 50 years of scientific achievement and compassionate care and secure the future for cancer's smallest victims. The loss of one more child to cancer is one too many. Help us reach the day when every child with cancer is guaranteed a cure.

CureSearch Young Artists

Kids are creating the way to help cure childhood cancer through their very own special art.

The CureSearch Young Artists Program invites children with cancer and their siblings to donate their creative accomplishments, some of which CureSearch prints on stationery items, apparel and other gift items.

CureSearch is proud to offer our 2007 Holiday Card collection featuring designs specially created by young ones who have been touched by childhood cancer. Each set of 10 cards includes your own personalized imprinting!

Proceeds from the sale of these products go toward increasing awareness and funding critical childhood cancer research.

Items featuring artwork by the Young Artists are available online at www.curesearch.org/giftshop or call 1-800-458-6223.

Reach the Day: Conquer Childhood Cancer

Reach the Day: Conquer Childhood Cancer

Reach the Day: Conquer Childhood Cancer is CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation's unifying call to the nation to fund the critical research necessary to cure children diagnosed with cancer. This national day of awareness will bring together children and adolescents with cancer, parents, families, friends, survivors, advocates and health care professionals from all around the country to sound the alarm for the vital need for a cure.

We must galvanize support in every community and every state, and in our Nation's Capitol to send a strong message to our top decision makers to immediately halt federal cutbacks in cancer research. We need to make our cause - to "conquer childhood cancer" - an urgent national priority.
