The star power for the Senior PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club was already impressive when the first commitment list for the May 22-25 tournament was revealed on Wednesday morning.

On Thursday it took a significant jump when word came that Greg Norman has informed the PGA of America that he, too, will be teeing it up at the East Course for the 69th annual senior major.
During his heyday in the late 1980s thru the mid 1990s, the Great White Shark was arguably the most popular golfer in the world, not to mention one of the best.
He won two British Open championships, regularly contended in all the majors -- and for a stretch in the late 1980s was ranked No. 1 in the Sony world rankings.
Norman has scaled back his tournament play in recent years, and his decision to play at Oak Hill is somewhat of a surprise. Since turning 50 years old in February 2005, Norman has played only four Champions Tour events as his off-course business ventures have kept him busy.
During that time he has only played in five PGA Tour events, but he has said that he would like to play a little more tournament golf this year.
With Norman and Ben Crenshaw joining the commitment list Thursday, the field includes 21 winners of major championships who combined to won a total of 38 Masters, U.S. Open, British Open and PGA titles. Twelve of the players are World Golf Hall of Fame members, nine have been Ryder Cup captains, and nine have combined to win 14 Senior PGAs.
