Norman Revises Summer Schedule

JUPITER, Fla. -- Greg Norman had intended to resume hiscompetitive schedule in July with a trio of major championships, but heannounced today that he has postponed his return. As a result, Norman willnot play the U.S. Senior Open, the Open Championship or the Senior BritishOpen.
"My knee is fine," Norman said. "My game just isn'twhere I want it to be, and the last thing I want to do is take a spot awayfrom another deserving professional."
Norman has been rehabilitating his right knee following asecond surgery in February that repaired damage to the meniscus. He wasrecently given clearance to resume practicing.
"Now I can focus on my game and get ready to play sometournaments later this summer," he said.
Norman has two Open Championship titles among his 90professional victories. The first came at Turnberry in 1986, where asecond-round 63 led to a five-shot triumph over Gordon Brand. The secondcame seven years later at Royal St. George's where Norman trailed by onestroke entering the final day and closed with 64 to defeat Nick Faldo bytwo. Norman has played in 26 of the last 29 Open Championships.
He will likely make his return at the TELUS Skins Game,which will be played August 7-8 at The Fairmont Banff Springs in Calgary,Alberta.
