Stewart Cink

Few players bring Stewart Cink's level of experience in team competition to this year's Presidents Cup. The Georgia resident is playing on his fourth Presidents Cup team to go with his four Ryder Cup appearances and his two appearances in the World Cup. Cink's 2009 season has been highlighted by his victory over 59-year-old Tom Watson in the British Open at Turnberry. Watson was seeking his sixth victory in the game's oldest championship and trying to become the oldest winner of a major professional championship, but Cink prevailed in their four-hole aggregate playoff. It was Cink's sixth career TOUR victory to go along with his two wins on the Nationwide Tour. Curiously, two of those wins have come in Hartford, Conn., and two at Hilton Head, S.C. Cink came to the TOUR following a fine amateur career that saw him win All-American honors at Georgia Tech. He received the 1995 Dave Williams, Fred Haskins and Jack Nicklaus awards as the country's top collegiate golfer. He was an American Junior Golf Association All-American in 1990.
