|
[Peter Townend was the first ever World Champion of International Professional Surfing. His amazing feat came seven years after he first picked up a surfboard at 15 fifteen years of age. At 22 he was competing in 20 foot surf at Waimea Bay on the North Shore of Hawaii, on the way to a World Title.]
The Way Of The Shark: Lessons On Golf, Business, And Life
By Greg Norman
"I grew up in the same time period--late 60s/early 70s--as Norman and in the same area of Brisbane/Southern Queensland," says Townend. "We were nominated together, and sat at the same table, for Queensland Sportsman Of The Year in 1976. Neither of us won. I found his approach to becoming a golfing superstar and transitioning to the business world coming out of golf fascinating."

Collection Supports Golf Galaxy's Women's Night | April 17, 2007 |
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Golf Galaxy will host its fourth annual Women's Night event on Tuesday, April 24 from 7-9 p.m. at all 73 of its store locations nationwide. The event is designed to promote and advance the game of golf with the fastest growing segment of the golf market. Last year's event drew more than 9,000 women, making it the largest women's- only golf event in the country.
"It's really been exciting to see this event grow so tremendously in the past few years," said Justin Royer of Golf Galaxy. "I think the success of the event is due in part to the need among women golfers to have a focused, interactive, and informative event just for them as well as Golf Galaxy's known breadth of knowledge and products that serve the female golf segment."
Greg Norman Collection is a proud supporter of Golf Galaxy's Women's Night. |

Norman Plans Trip To Australia | April 11, 2007 |
|
Australia's greatest golfer, Greg Norman, is coming to Adelaide in June to inspect the site of a $250 million coastal development on Yorke Peninsula.
Norman has designed the 18-hole golf course at the Port Hughes resort, named The Dunes, which is bankrolled by V8 Triple Eight car racing team owners Peter Butterly and Roland Dane.
Norman has "signed off" on the design of the course, which will enhance the local coastal environment by extending the dunes and coastal vegetation inland into the course.
Norman's Sydney-based design partner Bob Harrison said the PGA-standard layout would be a links course "similar in style to Moonah at the National on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula".
The visit will mark the first time in nearly 10 years The Shark has been to South Australia since he competed in the Australian Open at Royal Adelaide in December, 1998.
