Nationwide Tour: Livermore Valley Wine Country Championship | April 2, 2008 |
|
The Nationwide Tour moves west to California for this week's Livermore Valley Wine Country Championship at the Greg Norman-designed Wente Vineyards in Livermore at just east of San Francisco.
The course proved to be a monster last year. Omar Uresti's winning score was the highest in 2007 on the Nationwide Tour and the layout provided three of the ten toughest holes on the Nationwide Tour in 2007, including the first, which was the toughest of all in 2007.
The tournament sees the arrival of money leader, Aussie Jarrod Lyle, after a break of more than a month since his last start at the Moonah Classic in his homeland where he finished 5th.
Despite Lyle's presence, the favorite on paper is likely to be Indian golfer Arjun Atwal, who recently won the European Tour's Malaysian Open and importantly played well in this event last year when 6th. Atwal also finished runner up in Panama earlier this season.
