Asian Tour Event To Be Staged At Jaypee Greens

India's golfing cream will lock horns with the best from all over Asia in a new Asian Tour event to be backed by the Steel Authority of India (SAIL) next month.

The event, which has been added the Asian Tour calendar is yet another indication of the growing strength of India as a golfing power with three major international tournaments lined up inside a month.

The inaugural SAIL Open Golf Championship 2008 will be held at the Greg Norman designed Jaypee Greens, Noida.

Among the top stars of the region confirming their participation of the event scheduled from Feb 20 to 23, 2008 are India's Jeev Milkha Singh, who recently was given an invitation to play at the 2008 Masters at Augusta National. Others confirming their participation include Jyoti Randhawa, Arjun Atwal and Gaurav Ghei, besides a host of top stars from all over Asia such as Thai stars Thaworn Wiratchant and Prayaad Marksaeng, China's Liang Wen Chong and Singapore's Mardan Mamat.

Nationwide Tour Returns To Wente In March

The Livermore Valley Wine Country Championship, a Nationwide Tour event, is set for March 31-April 6 at the Greg Norman-designed Course at Wente Vineyards.

The third annual Wine Country Championship is set to attract an international field of 144 players for the sixth event of the Nationwide Tour season, which begins Jan.24. The tour opens in Panama, then goes to Mexico, New Zealand and Australia before hitting U.S. soil March 27 in Louisiana.

The tour's lone Northern California stop has a purse of $600,000, with $112,500 going to the winner. The event is expected to attract more than 20,000 spectators for the week, with proceeds benefiting The Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center and other Northern California non-profit organizations and education foundations.

Greg Norman Australian Prime Featured In Aussie Promotion

More than 40 Australian business, including Greg Norman Australian Prime, are showcasing their specialty food and wine products in Los Angeles and New York in the month-long promotion.

Bristol Farms, which has 15 stores in Los Angeles and has been trading there for four years is one of the businesses taking part.

On the east coast, New York's Citarella will promote Australian food for the second year across all its seven stores across Manhattan and the in the Hamptons.

The boutique supermarket chains will have a distinctively flavor throughout January, enticing shoppers on both coasts to buy up specialities such as Greg Norman Signature Wagyu beef and other Aussie products.

EVI and Pepsi Bottling Group Mexico Sign On as Official Partners of the MGC
