Willowbend Pro-Am Helicopter Ball

MASHPEE, Mass. -- On June 21, the 13th annual Willowbend Children's Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament will hold a Helicopter Ball Drop to raise money for charity. For a $100 contribution per ball, the contributor's odds are 1 in 250 of winning $5000 or $2500, and their contribution will benefit the Willowbend Children's Charity.

A Helicopter will drop 250 numbered golf balls from 50 feet in the air on a designated green on the Willowbend Practice Facility. The ball landing closest to the flagstick wins $5000, 2nd closest wins $2500.

Contributors may purchase a ball by contacting the Willowbend Offices at 508.539.5500. Buy your ball(s), and receive your ball number, a tax-deductible receipt, and four free Adult General Admission tickets. You need not be present at the Pro-Am to win.

The PGA TOUR field scheduled to appear to support the event this year will include: Greg Norman, John Daly, Kenny Perry, Tom Kite, Chris Riley, Bo Van Pelt, Scott McCarron, Billy Andrade, Jesper Parnevik, Skip Kendall, Briny Baird, Victor Schwamkrug, Chris Smith, Justin Peters, Brad Faxon, Cameron Beckman, Fred Funk, Tim Herron, Kevin Na, and Johnny Miller.

Vijay Singh Comments About Norman

Vijay Singh, the No. 2 ranked player in the world, had this to say about Greg Norman following the first round of the Volvo PGA Championship at Wentworth.

"I remember seeing Greg Norman in Australia in 1986 or 1987, something like that. He hit a ball on a par three that came out like a cannon and I turned to a friend and said, 'That's what I want to be able to do one day.'"

Greg Norman will be featured on The Sunshine Network Tuesday, May 25 from 8-9 p.m. ET. The show is "Florida Golf With Peter Kessler," and will include a 30-minute interview and 30 minutes of instruction. It was shot at Medalist Golf Club.

Norman Included In Golf Magazine's Ranking Of Best Rounds

In its June issue, Golf Magazine rated the 10 best rounds of the magazine's era. Greg Norman's 7-under-par 63 in the second round of the 1986 British Open at Turnberry was No. 8. In a wild-weather week, Norman emerged with eight birdies and an eagle to tie the tournament record; only a three-putt on 18 kept him from the major's first 62.

Mention the name Greg Norman and people think of sharks and golf. Nick Faldo? Green jacket and golf. David Frost? South Africa and golf. They also all happen to own wineries. The fruits of their bottled labors are being showcased on May 19 at all the Fleming's Prime Steakhouses around the country. $85 gets you a seat at the table for a four-course meal paired with two Frost wines and one each from Faldo and Norman.

The Hunter Valley Classic To Debut In September

It is now confirmed that the $50,000 Hunter Valley Classic will be held from 16th - 18th September The 54-hole event will be played at Cypress Lakes and the Greg Norman designed Vintage golf course under tournament and championship conditions. Shot-gun starts at 11.30am on each of the first two days will see 60 teams (240 players) comprising of a Pro and three amateurs in each team vie to finish in the Top 30 teams that will be announced at the "Seeded Dinner" on Friday night for all players and partners.
