Brookwater Shines On Sunshine Tour

It has been a rocky road this year on the Queensland Sunshine Tour, but Stuart Bouvier has put the past behind him to take out the 2006 Brookwater Pro-Am. Last year the event won Metropolitan Tournament of the Year at the Golf Industry Awards night and they showed everyone just why they received the honor.

Brookwater Golf Club prides itself on service, and from the moment the players arrive they are treated like royalty, from the lunch and practice facilities to the magnificent Greg Norman layout which is the No. 2 golf course in Australia.

"It really feels like a big tournament here each year and the course is one of the best we will play not only in Australia, but in the world," said Lucas Parsons.

Jacobsen To Undergo Hip Replacement Surgery

September 7, 2006

Peter Jacobsen will be spending most of the next few months at home, starting Saturday. That's when the Champions Tour golfer and Bonita Springs, FL resident will undergo hip replacement surgery.

Jacobsen hopes to return sometime in November. He has played in every Merrill Lynch Shootout. This is the 18th year for the unofficial tournament, which features 24 tour professionals in two-man teams.

"On behalf of Greg (Norman) and everyone involved in the Merrill Lynch Shootout, we wish Peter a speedy recovery," tournament director Taylor Ives said. "He's a great ambassador for the game of golf. We hope to see him back out there soon."

It remains to be seen if that will be in time for the Shootout. Sixteen of the 24 players in the field have been announced, with the final eight expected to be named by the end of the month. Norman, the tournament founder and host, had said on Friday that Jacobsen was on a lengthy list of candidates for those eight spots.
