Greg Norman, a leading golf lifestyle apparel and accessories brand, will now be available in India with the launch of its newest store.
Named after the renowned golfer, the brand is for the "new age group of Indians," said Rahul Singh, CEO of Greg Norman Collection (India) after the launch yesterday.
The brand store was inaugurated by former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah.
"We have initiated this brand in India for people who believe in sports lifestyle wear," Singh said, adding that 10 more stores would come up next year. |

McAllister Ranch To Open In 2008 | September 19, 2007 |
McAllister Ranch golf course architect Greg Norman was in town last Thursday to inspect his first golf course design in this area. According to Joe Aguirre of SunCal Properties, Norman was pleased with the progress of the course, which has now been seeded.
The construction of the clubhouse has begun and the ticker for the opening is slated for the first quarter of 2008, in which the course will be open for public play.
The course will be operated by Troon Golf and will be a championship 18-hole course that will play from 5,800 to nearly 7,000 yards. |

ChampionsGate Hosting Junior Golf, Charity Tournaments | September 19, 2007 |

The International Junior Golf Tour is holding a tournament Saturday and Sunday at ChampionsGate in Osceola County. The tournament features Orlando product Brad Brown in the boys 15-19-year-old division and Lakeland's Melanie Audette in girls 15-19.
ChampionsGate also will be the site of the Links Fore Leukemia Golf Tournament on Sept. 28 to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Central Florida. Officials from ChampionsGate, a Greg Norman-designed course, expect more than 100 golfers.

In 2006 Johan Edfors created history when he became the first Swedish winner of The Quinn Direct British Masters. Now the 31 year old is aiming for further acclaim by becoming the first player in a quarter of a century to successfully defend the title.
Many great players have their names written on the tournament's Roll of Honour over the past 60 years but only Scotland's Bernard Gallacher (1974 and 1975) and Australian Greg Norman (1981 and 1982) have achieved back-to-back successes. |

The Golf Course Superintendents Association of Northern California (GCSANC) is pleased to announce that the 2007 Golf Course Superintendent's Institute is set for September 24-25, 2007 at The Course at Wente Vineyards located in the heart of the Livermore Valley Wine Country.
Now celebrating its 27th year, The Institute serves as an educational retreat for golf course superintendents, affiliate and allied members. This educational conference and trade show will include industry leaders speaking on topics pertinent to the operational and maintenance success of golf facilities. This year's institute will also serve as a joint meeting between the chapters of the Northern California and Sierra Nevada Golf Course Superintendents Associations.
According to Host Superintendent Glenn Matthews at The Course at Wente Vineyards, in addition to the education and trade show components attendees will have a chance to tee it up on the Greg Norman designed course, followed by an on-site reception in Wente's wine tasting room.

The Doonbeg Golf Club and Lodge in County Clare has been rated by lifestyle magazine Elite Traveler as having one of the 101 best hotel suites in the world.
The magazine described the three-bed penthouse suite at Doonbeg, which overlooks the Atlantic, and the Greg Norman designed golf club, as "a refuge of rare, low-key luxury." |

Norman Design To Host NSW Open | September 1, 2007 |

The New South Wales Open will be played this year at The Vintage Golf Club, the Greg Norman designed course in the Hunter Valley, November 8-11. The NSW Golf Association says the Open will be played under a new format over 72 holes with a 36 hole weekend Pro-Am. Amateurs will be paired with the players making the 36-hole cut and participating in a best ball stableford over the final 36 holes. It is hoped the venue will assist in attracting 'name' players such as Newcastle stars Nathan Green and Nick Flanagan.
