Fifth Shark Attack At Masters
| ||||||
Defending champion Greg Norman put on another commanding performance at Huntingdale Golf Club and charged home to a six-shot victory over Craig Parry and Bob Shearer. It was an unpredictable week of weather complete with sun, clouds, humidity and wind, but Norman conquered all with rounds of 69, 69, 74 and 68.
The Australian Masters annually treats spectators to fine golf and fun, and this year's edition was no different. Capacity crowds gathered once again at this venerable Melbourne venue with anticipation and high expectations. They wanted to see The Shark in action.
With nine holes to play in the tournament, Parry was situated atop the leaderboard with Peter Fowler. Norman, Shearer and Grant Waite were mounting a furious charge. Norman held his nerve throughout the final round, where scores were a fair bit inflated compared to the first three days.
