Convincing Win To Shark

Greg Norman won the National Players Championship title yesterday at the Sydney Riverside Oaks course, defeating Australian's Peter Senior and David Graham. Both finished in a tie for second position.

In overcast and warm conditions Norman came from a seemingly hopeless position and thundered through to share the lead after the third round.

Starting the day in equal 19th position, The Shark fired seven birdies and an eagle which was only tempered by a bogey at the 12th, after taking his ball to water and missing two putting opportunities on the 9th and 10th.

Norman finished the tournament for an aggregate 18-under-par 270, just one short of his incredible 19-under-par performance when he won the E.S.P. Open in Canberra the previous week.

This was Norman's third tournament title in as many months.
